The Rotary Club of Vancouver-Fraserview was established in 1993 and has a long history of service and fellowship. Over the past 20 years we have been actively involved in or contributed to over 50 projects in our community and around the world. We are a growing Club with 27 members, and we have a diverse and young core membership group. Our Club has many social events and focus on fellowship.
Our community service initiatives focus on youth leadership, mental health and literacy. We have two main fundraisers, our annual golf tournament that raises money for early childhood literacy and our gala that raises money for community projects, youth leadership and youth mental health. Over the past 5 years we have raised $100,000 in support of youth mental health.

Causes We Support
Youth Leadership - The Rotary Club of Vancouver Fraserview is dedicated to developing the future leaders of our community and Rotary. To support this initiative we sponsor your to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Programs, we sponsor scholarships at John Oliver Secondary School and Sir David Thompson Secondary School, and we are actively developing our Rotary Youth Exchange Program and an Interact Club at a local Secondary School.
Youth Mental Health - Our Club focuses on developing and supporting initiatives and projects that develop awareness around the issue of youth mental health, preventative programs, and program that address mental health issues that affect 1-5 Canadian and specially youth between the ages of 12-17. Our Club is actively working with Dr. Shimi Kang, Adler University, and South Asian Mental Health Action Awareness (SAMHA) on mental health related projects. Our Club has raised $100,000 at our annual gala over the past 5 years to support youth mental health.
Youth Literacy - Our annual Golf Tournament raises funds to support youth literacy initiatives, projects and organizations in our community. Research shows that a child's reading level at the end of Grade 3 is a more accurate predictor of school success than any other variable! To support this goal, we have partnered with ONE TO ONE Literacy Society which operates in 55 schools in Vancouver, 4 in North Vancouver, with 300 volunteers investing 24,000 volunteer hours benefiting 800 students. We also support Literacy Teaching Matters, a group of educators working in the context of the Vancouver School District's early childhood literacy initiatives," and the Wonder of Reading Program at John Oliver Secondary School.
