The Rotary Club of Vancouver is over 100 years old. Since we are the largest club in Vancouver we attract successful business people who want to give back to the community. We have many interesting speakers and a lot of social events such as skiing, a curling league, golfing, Chinese soiree, and bridge.
What Rotary Needs We are looking for people like you. People who want to connect with other leaders in the community to use their expertise for good, people whose sense of responsibility inspires them to give back to their community, to change the world.
Join with active exciting business executives to do good in Vancouver and in the world.
Causes We Support
Hearing: We raise funds for the hard of hearing in BC through our annual Bike a Thon. The ride is 120 k from Brentwood Mall in Burnaby to Harrison Hot Springs and raises about $130,000 each year.
Grants support research at UBC in cochlear implant technology, clinical services through St. Paul's Hospital and BC Children's Hospital and support services through agencies such as BC Children's Hearing and Speech Centre, BC Family Hearing Resource Society and the Deaf Children's Society.
Water Projects: We support water projects in Congo and Tanzania.
Health: We ship containers of medical equipment to many parts of the world.
Youth Programs: We are involved in many youth projects in local schools and with international exchange students. Programs include a Secondary School Scholarship program, Breakfast programs for lower east side elementary schools, literacy programs, and youth groups such as Interact in secondary schools and Rotaract at UBC.
We have regular networking meetings through "Meetup". In 2014 we started a new Rotoract Club for young professionals.
